Cypress has successfully completed a BRL 50 million (USD 10 million) fundraising for the purchase of 300 ICU beds for public hospitals. RTS, a company specialized in the sale, rental and integrated management of equipment for ICUs and Surgical Centers will receive a credit line of BRL 50 million from the Emergency Support Program to Combat the Coronavirus Pandemic, from the Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES).

The operation was completed in a short period of time by BNDES, due to the need for emergency expansion of beds available throughout Brazil to combat Covid-19. The commitment of RTS and Cypress team, led by CFO Luis Filipe Pinto, was fundamental to the success of the operation. “We thank Cypress team for the great work and support in this process, contributing to the struggle of implementing more beds and saving lives” – Rogerio Ferneda, partner and CEO of RTS.

In March, RTS and the Ministry of Health signed a contract for the rental and integrated management of at least 20 high-complex adult and pediatric ICU modules, with 10 beds each, to expand large federal hospitals in Brazil. In all, therefore, there will be 200 new beds. The amount of the fundraising with BNDES will be used to cover the costs of this investment, as well as an eventual increase in demand from the Ministry of Health or other state or municipal hospitals that are already in contact with RTS.

Currently, RTS manages more than 1,000 beds in about 100 hospitals, public and private. Learn more at: www.rtsrio.com.br
